this museum is dedicated to the homesteaders
BUILT AS A SCHOOL IN 1914, IT OPENED IT'S DOORS jUNE 29, 1969 AS THE lEWIS AND cLARK tRAIL mUSEUM AND THANKS TO MANY COMMUNITY MEMBERS IT HAS REMAINED OPEN ALL THESE YEARS. THE THREE STORY BUILDING IS FULL OF HOMESTEADER ARTIFACTS THAT REALLY REPRESENT WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO LIVE AND WORK IN NORTH DAKOTA. wE HAVE ARTIFACTS OF PERSONAL EFFECTS AS WELL AS FARMING AND RANCHING EQUIPMENT used in NORTH DAKOTA BY THE HOMESTEADERS IN THE early 1900's. When you walk in the front door you are looking right at the stairs you see below, if anyone has trouble with stairs we do have a chair lift.


                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      
the board member's are in the process of renovating, expanding, and creating new exhibits. We do not charge to come see our incredible museum,  all we ask for is donations to help insure this museum can continue to keep it's doors open.
